Picture Perfect Positano

Arriving at night is never my first choice ~ I like to be able to explore and get my bearings before I go to sleep! BUT there is something quite special about waking up in Positano so getting there in the dark only enhanced this experience!

It’s been on my travel list for a while, so we snapped up the opportunity to meet up with family whilst they were on a european tour from the US. Family means a lot to us and where better to meet than a dreamy town on the Amalfi Coast?!

When we travel we always like to try out different hotels, it’s the excitement when you first arrive somewhere new! It means you are constantly seeing places from a fresh perspective so we always consider multiple locations. Our favourite boutique finds recently have been through i-escape.

On this trip we thought we would be quite limited as we booked very last minute, but we still managed to find some gems! The first 2 nights we stayed at the Punta Re Suites. A newly renovated traditional Positanese house in the centre of it all, right next to Piazza Mulini. Think colourful exquisite tiled floors {I mean the Italians know how to make a tile!}, crisp white walls, high ceilings & traditional Positanese ceramics. Waking up & pulling back the drapes to these views felt like a movie!

I was in heaven, the streets were lined with little boutiques.. for the Fashionistas there is a lot of linen & vintage Italian lace.. dreamy! We were also drawn to the brightly and beautifully crafted ceramics and were so tempted to make a haul and have it all shipped home.. maybe next time!

One morning we took a little boat over to Da Adolfo, a cute local restaurant & beach club, for a day of sun, sea, simplicity & spritz {of the Aperol variety!}. Just what I needed, especially as the weather had started to get cooler at home, so it was a treat to soak up the last of the summer rays!

Our last night in Positano was spent at the Pollazzaro Muratt .. this place was a pure delight! Perfectly positioned amongst the busy streets, the Romeo and Juliet-esque courtyard has a rustic yet regal charm. After a morning on the beach and a meander up the boutique lined streets,we were ready for a little refresher back to the hotel and the Spritz Amalfitano went down a treat! {limoncello, prosecco, ginger & tonic) bellisima!

If you are sunset seekers like us, one of the highlights has to be boating in the Amalfi at sunset! We were spoilt and taken on a private boat .. definitely a pinch me moment. Just the four of us, the sunset and some bubbles.. magic! Another must visit sunset spot is La Sirenus Hotel Champange & Oyster bar, morning or night this bar and hotel has the best views and those colourful skies only add to the drama of it all!

It’s so hard to capture the full experience in one little post! I’m going to stop here if you’ve got this far thank you for staying with me! Here’s some pictures of the ridiculous views, our beautiful hotels & the scenery out and about in this dreamy place!
