Casa Cook ~ Kos

Casa Cook ~ Kos

>> CURIOSITY AT CASA COOK KOS <<

It's always hard to get your bearings when arriving at your destination at night and this was no different, we felt like we had been dropped in the desert! Feeling lucky & happy to reach our destination, we knew we were somewhere special as soon as we stepped into this rural retreat on the North Shore of Kos <3

INTERIOR DREAM

One of the things that had drawn us to this resort was the interior.. Casa Cook Kos is a perfect fusion of Tulum's bohemian hipster cool, with an edge of Scandi minimalism - an Interior dream!

The mixed textures, industrial lighting, matt grey floors & walls, rustic basket weave & wicker finishes, are perfectly contrasted against the baron mountain landscape one side and the turquoise vitamin sea the other. Absolute heaven and right up our strasse! Not to mention perfect timing for some interior inspo for the final stages of our house renovation! {but thats a different story!}

THE RESORT & KIMA BEACH CLUB

Tribal beats and numerous chill out areas made it easy to forget reality and immerse ourselves in this rural desert like dream.

The beach club is the hub of the resort, life is easy breezy here with the perfect flow between pool, beach, restaurant & bar.

Golden hour was our cue to order some beverages at the pool [mine was a Sea Breeze!], or take a wander down to the beach or a comfy seat on the veranda [Safari-esque] to watch the sky change as the sun went down.  Where ever we were in this resort we were not disappointed!

A subtle sent of musk filled the resort, it was one of those intriguing scents that you want to keep smelling! Working in the beauty industry I am always drawn to smells & critical of any beauty products that are presented in the room! All of the lotions & potions supplied were unisex and absolutely divine, packaged perfectly in dark tinted bottles to suit the mood of the scent! All adding another dimension to this full sensory experience. I can honestly say that we felt well and truly 'zen' after our week away!

ACTIVITIES

Some may call us crazy for going to the gym while we were away, but actually, it was exhilarating and gave us more energy! It's so easy to sit, sunbathe, eat drink and be merry [dont get me wrong, I do this ALOT], but actually a bit of exercise just took the edge off of any lethargy that was starting to set in!!

If you haven't tried paddle boarding, its the perfect location, the sea was nice and calm [most of the time!] so not too strenuous.. to be honest I was mostly sat [or led] on the end of the board with Mike doing the paddling, but i did give it a go! The views of the bay from out on the paddle board were simply stunning. So peaceful and quiet, a great spot for some reflection and appreciation of the surroundings.

It was really easy to join the yoga classes [twice, daily]. We were lucky and had a session on the beach.. I mean, what a way to start the day, yoga whilst listening to the sound of the ocean! I'll take that every day please!

We also took a boat trip out to see some private spots on the island ~ idyllic & definitely worth doing if you visit this beautiful spot.

WHAT TO WEAR

I love simplicity when I'm in the sun, winning with light weight & loose fabrics! There was a lot of linen at Casacook so I didn't feel out of place!

For those who are interested I have shared the links to a couple of my outfits & swimwear choices below;

Red polka dot dress: Urban Outfitters - https://www.urbanoutfitters.com/en-gb/shop/uo-spotted-wrap-dress?category=dresses&color=060

White paper bag skirt & strapless top: Faithful The Brand (mine has a slight pin stripe which has sold out, but this is the same top in pure white) https://www.faithfullthebrand.com/collections/season-sale/products/plain-white-solana-top

I always struggle with bikinis or one pieces - I mean, none of them make me go up a cup size?! Everyone has their go to brands and mine is Reiss for swimwear! I can always rely on this classic style to make me feel confident! I went for black but this style is also available in gold (sometimes I wish I could be a bit more daring!) https://www.reiss.com/p/triangle-bikini-top-womens-maggiore-t-in-black/?category_id=12788&gaEeList=W%20-%20Trends%20-%20Holiday%20Shop

 In love with but also struggle with the one piece. Being a sun worshiper I find the one piece thing a bit of an internal battle! Couldn't resist this yellow ray of sunshine from Top shop though! http://www.topshop.com/en/tsuk/product/clothing-427/swimwear-beachwear-3163078/twist-shirred-swimsuit-7143545?bi=220&ps=20

Zara sandals - https://www.zara.com/uk/en/leather-crossover-sandals-p12640301.html?v1=6575903&v2=719531

Straw Bukit Bag - Ulu the label https://kinilush.com/collections/ulu-the-label/products/ulu-the-label-bukit-bag
